If you’re searching for a way to give back to your community, the Catalyst’s Impact Connector is here to help. Each week, we feature five organizations in the Tampa Bay area that need your help, whether that’s time, talent, items, funding or simply awareness. We’re certain you’ll find something here that matches your interests and will positively impact the community.

Deliver Christmas trees to families in need

For more than 30 years, the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg’s “Neighbor to Neighbor Christmas Program” has provided families in need with a live tree, ornaments, holiday dinner, books, toys and free YMCA programs and services. This year, YMCA leaders say the biggest need is for people to help deliver Christmas trees Dec. 2. There is also an opportunity to help on the shopping days Dec. 12-14. Donate your bicycle for parts or repurpose

St. Petersburg Bike Co-op is a do-it-yourself bike shop with “the tools, space and knowledge to educate and assist you in bicycle repair and maintenance,” according to the group’s Facebook page. The group also accepts bicycle donations to be used for parts or to gift to those in need in the community. Reach out to the group to lend a hand repairing bikes or to donate one you no longer need.
