Each week, we feature five organizations in the Tampa Bay area that need your input, whether that’s time, talent, items, funding or simply awareness. We’re certain you’ll find something here that matches your interests and will positively impact the community.
Tangerine Plaza cleanup
Join Keep Pinellas Beautiful and City of St. Petersburg for a community cleanup at Tangerine Plaza. This event takes place on Saturday, May 18 and begins and 10 a.m. However, it is recommended that you arrive a few minutes early to check in. All necessary cleanup supplies will be provided, but volunteers should be dressed appropriately for the weather, along with wearing closed toe shoes.
The meetup place is the Tangerine Plaza parking lot at 1780 22nd St. S.
We hope you will come out on Saturday morning and help to keep our city clean and beautiful.

Volunteer Archaeology Lab
Learn how artifacts and other archaeological materials get processed for study. This volunteer lab is led by professional archaeologists with the West Central chapter of the Florida Public Archaeology Network. Participants will help sort through, clean and identify artifacts and other material from real archaeological sites so they can be used by researchers to learn about the past.

Chihuly Museum docent
The Chihuly Collection is looking for friendly, outgoing and engaging volunteers to expand their Docent program at the Chihuly Collection, presented by the Morean Arts Center. Docents play a key role in educating and engaging visitors who are interested in the collection, and they need your help. Docents will be able to guide visitors of all ages on informative and educational tours of the collection.
Scheduling for this opportunity is flexible, so if you are interested, you will be able to help out whenever fits your schedule best.
Being a docent for the Chihuly Collection is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is both passionate and knowledgeable about the collection, and wishes to share that passion and knowledge with others. If this sounds like you, you may learn more about this opportunity here.
Thrift Shop assistant with CASA
CASA, or Community Action Stops Abuse, is looking for assistants to help with receiving, sorting, hanging and pricing donations as well as assisting with customer service in the CASA Thrift Shop. If you are interested in helping people find hidden gems and unique items, while also helping a fantastic organization in supporting domestic abuse victims, then this may be the opportunity for you.
This opportunity is flexible for your schedule, so you are able to volunteer when it is best for you. The thrift shop is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.

Clearwater Garden Club cleanup
Join Keep Pinellas Beautiful to help clean up and maintain the gardens at the Clearwater Garden Club. Please wear closed toed shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. We recommend long sleeves, hat and sunglasses. All tools and supplies will be provided to you, but it is recommended that you bring your own water. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
This event takes place Saturday, May 10 at 9 a.m.
