Paint Your Pet for a Cause
Aspirations Winery in Clearwater is hosting a “Paint Your Pet” event, Sunday, Aug. 3 from 2 to 5 p.m. Proceeds will benefit three local charities: Humane Society of Pinellas, Florida Giant Dog Rescue and Do Like Raleigh Roo Foundation (which supports families and rescues with disabled animals). Participants may donate to the charity of their choice.
Once you purchase a ticket and email a photo, instructor Anne Marie will sketch an outline of your pet and have it ready for you to paint on a 16” x 20” canvas. No talent is needed and all supplies will be provided.
Aspirations Winery is located at 22041 US Hwy 19, Clearwater. Food, wine, local craft beer and cocktails will be available. Ticket sales end July 30 at 5 p.m and pet photos must be emailed to Anne Marie by that time as well.

Folly Farm Invasive Removal
Keep Pinellas Beautiful and the City of Safety Harbor are hosting their next monthly invasive removal project at Folly Farm Nature Preserve on August 2 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Volunteers will assist with the removal of invasive Caesar Weed, Potato Vine and more. All supplies will be provided, including gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, hand sanitizer and a water refill station. Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Long pants, a long-sleeve shirt, hat and sunglasses are recommended.
Folly Farm Nature Preserve is located at 1562 Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Street N., Safety Harbor. Free parking is available in the park.

Habitat for Humanity Nuts & Bolts Orientation

On Thursday, August 7 from 6 – 7 p.m., Habitat Tampa Bay Gulfside is holding a one-hour session to learn about volunteering and the Habitat homeownership program.
Attendees will receive information about each of Habitat’s pillars—Apply, Donate, Volunteer and Advocate—and the various opportunities in each area. The orientation is held at the Habitat’s Education Center at 13355 49th Street N., Suite B in Clearwater.

Hero To A Child seeks PR and Media Volunteers

Hero To A Child was founded in 1989 and for over 35 years has been dedicated to transforming the lives of children and youth in the child welfare system in Pinellas and Pasco counties. The organization is looking for one or two public relations/media volunteers to help expand its outreach and increase awareness of its mission.
Responsibilities include researching and creating a working media contact list, compiling a local event listing directory and identifying free or low-cost marketing opportunities.
Desired qualifications include strong research, organization and communication skills; familiarity with local media; experience with public relations, marketing or communications; and comfortable working independently and with light guidance.

Sunshine Senior Center Volunteer Program

The City of St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Sunshine Senior Center is a nationally accredited multiservice center where people 50 and over gather for support, socialization, fitness and community meetings.
Services and activities include breakfast and lunch at the Sunset Café, health and wellness fairs, fitness center, computer lab and workshops, resale and sundry show and arranged outings to lunch, concerts and other events.
Volunteers 50 or older are needed to help serve meals in the café, assist members in the fitness center and work in the resale shop. The center is located at 330 5th Street N., St. Petersburg.
