Purple Paws Initiative fundraiser

The Purple Paws Initiative, a program of IgniteHer, Inc., helps survivors of domestic violence escape safely with their pets by funding emergency veterinary care and temporary boarding through community partnerships.
On Thursday, Aug. 27 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center, IgniteHer, Inc. is hosting “Bound By Love: Fashion With Purpose,” a fundraiser to support the Purple Paws Initiative’s mission.
The event will feature an immersive runway fashion experience curated by designer Zhanna Kens, live music by guitarist Daryal Kafkasso Erdem, food, drinks and raffle prizes.
Tickets are $60 for general admission and $100 for VIP front row seating. Guests are also invited to bring donations for local animal shelters and rescue organizations.
The Clearwater Beach Recreation Center is located at 69 Bay Esplanade, Clearwater.

Charity Tea Party benefiting SPCA Tampa Bay

The Clearwater Community Volunteers Center is hosting a charity tea party Saturday, Sept. 12 from 3 until 5 p.m. to benefit the SPCA Tampa Bay.
Tea and scones will be served. Admission is free but participants are asked for in-kind donations such as blankets, towels, dog toys, cat toys, beds, leashes, interactive feeders and pet supply store gift cards.
An Amazon wish list is also available for those who cannot attend.
The event will be held at the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center, 133 N. Fort Harrison Avenue, Clearwater.

Volunteer with the Florida Guardian ad Litem office

The Florida Guardian ad Litem Office represents abused, abandoned and neglected children in the Pinellas County foster care system.
The office utilizes a team that includes attorneys, child welfare professionals and trained volunteers to represent vulnerable children, both in the community and in court.
Volunteers are asked to commit to approximately 10 hours per month for about 12 to 18 months. Volunteers must be 21 years or older, hold a valid driver’s license, agree to a background check and attend an orientation.

Saturday morning volunteers needed
Celebrate Outreach!, a St. Petersburg nonprofit dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness, is looking for volunteers to help with its Saturday morning meal service in St. Petersburg.
Volunteers help with meal preparations and setup, serving and handing out bagged meals, picking up donated food and shopping for items to supplement meals.

Setup begins between 7 and 7:30 a.m. and cleanup ends at approximately 10:30 a.m. Celebrate Outreach! is located at 100 Mirror Lake, St. Petersburg.

Volunteer at The Attic Resale Shop

Morton Plant Hospital’s thrift store, The Attic Resale Shop, is seeking volunteers to help create a welcoming shopping experience for the community.
Opportunities include sorting donations, assisting customers and helping with merchandising and displays.
Available shifts are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon until 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
A background check, attending an orientation and a TB screening is required of all volunteers.
The Attic Resale Shop is located at 1241 S. Fort Harrison Ave., Clearwater.
