Volunteer for Superhero Fun Walk
The Superhero Fun Walk, taking place Saturday, Sept. 20 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m., is a fundraiser for the Bleeding Disorders Foundation of Florida. The organization’s mission is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with bleeding disorders and their families through education, information and referral services, advocacy and research. Proceeds from the Superhero Fun Walk will benefit the bleeding disorders community and help pay for camp tuitions, scholarships, emergency financial assistance, educational programs and more.
Volunteers are needed to set up and break down the event, pick up trash, man booths and have fun.
The walk will begin at Vinoy Park, 701 Bayshore Drive NE, St. Petersburg.

SOUL Jungle Lake Cleanup
Stewards of Our Urban Lakes (SOUL), in partnership with Keep Pinellas Beautiful, is hosting a cleanup of Jungle Lake at Walter Fuller Park, Saturday, Sept. 20 beginning at 9 a.m.

Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks, including lake debris removal, invasive vegetation removal, native plant installation and water sample collection.
Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, such as boots or sneakers, and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. All supplies will be provided, including gloves, waders, trash bags, pickers, sunscreen, bug spray and hand sanitizer. A water refill station will be available. Sunglasses and a hat are recommended.
Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers will meet near the Walter Fuller Dog Park, 7901 30th Avenue N., St. Petersburg.

Become a Shelter Hero

American Red Cross of North and Central Florida is seeking volunteers to become shelter heroes – individuals trained to provide comfort, food and shelter when disasters strike.
With just a few hours of training, you can join a dedicated team of American Red Cross volunteers in your community, ready to respond when it’s needed most.
The next training session takes place Sunday, Sept. 28 from 2-5 p.m. at the Volunteer Ministers Florida, 101 Fort Harrison Avenue N., Clearwater.

Shop for a Cause
Southern Comfort Home Care is organizing “Shop for a Cause,” Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Magnolia Soap and Bath in Clearwater, to help raise funds for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Magnolia Soap and Bath sells handmade soaps, bath bombs and other skin care products. A percentage of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Southern Comfort Home Care.
The store is located at 23668 US Highway 19 N., Unit 10, Clearwater. The event is free to attend.

National Family Justice Seeks Development and Fundraising Volunteers

National Family Justice (NFJ) is a nationwide nonprofit based in St. Petersburg that is committed to protecting children, defending constitutional rights and restoring justice for families navigating the legal system. Its mission includes educating professionals on trauma, child development and post-separation abuse, while advocating for policy reforms such as equal shared parenting and legal protections for survivors.
NFJ is seeking development and fundraising volunteers who will play a key role in supporting the organization’s mission. This position provides hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations and event planning, while building practical skills for a future career in nonprofit management or business development.
This is a remote position and can be done from anywhere. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and are requested to commit to six to eight hours a week.
