If you’re searching for ways to give back, the Catalyst’s Impact Connector is here to help. Each week, we feature five organizations in the Tampa Bay area that need your input, whether that’s time, talent, items, funding or simply awareness. We’re certain you’ll find something here that matches your interests and will positively impact the community.

Volunteer for Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Pinellas County is taking place Saturday, Oct. 3 beginning at 8 a.m. All funds raised through the walk further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Volunteer opportunities include registration and check-in, set-up, clean-up, serving as a tent or booth attendant, monitoring and cheering on Walk participants, photographing or videographing the event and more.

All volunteers will receive an event T-shirt. The 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s takes place at Poynter Park, 1000 3rd Street S., St. Petersburg.

Volunteers can also sign up to join the planning committee for future events.

Sunset Yoga to benefit Heels to Heal

The Body Electric Yoga is hosting a Sunset Yoga at the Pier on Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 7 until 8 p.m.  All donations for the class will support the Heels to Heal Crisis Counseling Program.

Founded in 2009, Heels to Heal is dedicated to helping survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence receive the resources necessary for healing. The goal of the Crisis Counseling program is to help victims improve coping skills, decrease PTSD symptoms, increase self-esteem and confidence and guide victims to make sustainable choices toward a healthier future.

The St. Petersburg Pier is located at 800 2nd Avenue NE, St. Peterburg.

Invasive plant removal volunteer opportunity

The Pinellas County Parks & Conservation Resources is hosting an invasive plant removal on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 8 until 10 a.m. at two county parks:

  • War Veterans’ Memorial Park, 9600 Bay Pines Blvd., St. Petersburg
  • John Chesnut Park, 2200 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor

Invasive plants such as air potato, caesarweed and Brazilian pepper are not native to Florida and spread aggressively, crowding out native plants and throwing off the balance of entire ecosystems. By removing them, room is made for native plants and pollinators to flourish.

Volunteers will get hands-on experience identifying and removing invasive species, and learn from Parks & Conservation Resources experts about sustainable land management.

All volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes. Gloves and bags will be provided.

Proceeds from the event benefit youth arts programs, scholarships, arts education, theater and other cultural programming throughout the Tampa Bay area.

The evening will feature a performance by St. Petersburg native and Broadway actress Rachel Potter, who appeared on Broadway as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family, the Mistress in the revival of Evita, and as an understudy for Glinda on the national tour of Wicked.

The event will also feature cocktails, dinner, silent and live auctions, dancing and Broadway-style experiences throughout the night.

Sales for general admission tickets end Oct. 1.

The Central Park Performing Arts Center is located at 105 Central Park Drive, Largo.
