Turkey time is behind us, and we are full swing into Holiday Giving time. This week we’re bringing you another five ways to support your community.

Give a toy, get a beer. Through Dec. 15th, bring a new unwrapped toy to Coppertail Brewing in Tampa to support Affordable Christmas by Current Initiatives. Affordable Christmas is a shopping event for lower-income, working-class families to provide their children fun and exciting gifts during the holiday season. Families are invited through partnering community organizations to attend the event and purchase new, unused gifts at 1/10 the cost of their original price.

Ease the holiday burden on survivors of domestic violence through CASA Pinellas’s Hope for the Holidays program. CASA is asking that anyone who would like to contribute to making our participants’ holidays a little brighter donate Walmart, Amazon, Visa, Target, Gas, or Publix gift cards in increments of $25. Donations will be accepted until Dec. 12, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at a new drop-off location: 1019 Arlington Avenue North, St. Petersburg. CASA is also accepting the following new unwrapped items: Headphones, earbuds, portable speakers, cell phone accessories, books, arts & crafts activity kits, educational toys and games.

Join the Florida Dream Center at their upcoming Adopt a Claus event. Multiple dates and times are available to volunteer. Help parents wrap Christmas gifts –  Dec. 13, 2-7 p.m. and Dec. 15, 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. or 2-7 p.m.  Donations for unwrapped gifts are also being accepted; for more information, email dawn@floridadreamcenter.org or call (727) 851-9074

Little furry creatures more your vibe? The Tampa Bay SPCA is seeking donations to help out their pocket pets. All adopted animals during the holiday season go home with a stocking of goodies. Hay cubes, biscuit treats, and chewy ball toys are at the top of their list. Items may be purchased online and shipped directly to the little critters in need at SPCA Tampa Bay, 9099 130th Ave N., Largo.

Are you looking to give back as an organization or small business with your team this year? Host a holiday food drive through Feeding Tampa Bay. They’ll provide you with all the info and tools you need to help support families in need this holiday season.

Don’t forget, you can find other ways to connect with the community in the Catalyst’s Impact section, featuring news and opportunities from area nonprofits.
