What do you do?
I am Tampa Bay’s Relocation Expert with Premier Sotheby’s International as a Certified Realtor. I am also host to St Pete Soul Podcast.
Why do you do it?
I help people buy or sell their home, get connected in their community, thrive in their new home!
What was your Catalyst? (How did you get started?)
In 2015, I moved to Southwest Florida from Mobile, Alabama. It was a leap of faith for me to move to St. Pete because we didn’t know a soul. It was so overwhelming. Experiencing the stress of moving across state lines made me realize how important it is to have someone in a transplant’s corner.
What’s a common misconception or unknown aspect of what you do?
Realtors wear a lot of hats. Some people think we just get to show pretty houses all day and that’s what you see on HGTV but the behind the scenes is tons of prep work like running comps and other compliance paperwork, on top of all the marketing we have to do for our listings and brand, and running payroll and pay taxes…and on and on it goes. Agents may work under the umbrella of a brokerage, but we are the ones managing our business, and the responsibility falls on us to do it well.
What’s the most challenging part of your Hustle?
For me it would be prioritizing time. It’s easy to get pulled in a lot of directions with emails and other admin work, on top of client calls and meetings you need to be present for. You have to balance working on your business to keep building momentum while managing working in your business to serve your clients with excellence. It’s easy to caught up working with clients and forgot the other needs your business has to keep it running!
What’s the most valuable piece of business advice/insight that’s helped you?
That your mindset is the most important part of your business. Your business starts with you. If you don’t take care of yourself then you can’t show up for your business well. Your mind is where all that starts. Waking up with a morning routine of gratitude and affirmations, things like that to help me stay in a positive mindset so I can perform at my best.
