The Hustle

Name: Cynthia Edwards (CynthiaMarie Boutique)

Posted By Keara McGraw

On her website, Cynthia Marie introduces her pop-up boutique this way: "The name CynthiaMarie was created in 2012. Initially, it once represented a line of handmade aprons, tea towels and other kitchenware made by my daughter (she started in 2017) and me. Those items were sold at local markets, craft fairs and with friends and family from all over." The CynthiaMarie line - see the website - has been substantially expanded to include clothing for women and men, fashion jewelry, shoes, accessories and much more.

Hustle (job)

Owner of CynthiaMarie Boutique. A mobile clothing, accessory, shoes and gift store.

What do you do?

I set up through the weekends and some weekdays.

Why do you do it?

I thoroughly enjoy fashion and creating unique experiences that make people go WOW.

What was your Catalyst? (How did you get started?)

Closed my storefront after Covid and decided to be able to go where the customers are, instead of waiting for them to come to me.

What’s a common misconception or unknown aspect of what you do?

That we’re a typical boutique. We’re not. Not only do we make our own T-shirts and fancy aprons, but, we’re slowly starting to make our own clothing wear.

What’s the most challenging part of your Hustle?

Scheduling the trailer. Making sure that I’m in the right place at the right time.

What’s the most valuable piece of business advice/insight that’s helped you?

Love what you do and make your customers feel extremely special.
