St Pete Running Company Owner
What do you do?
I handle all the operations associated with owning a business. The fun parts of what I do include planning events, working with nonprofits, ordering products and working with an amazing staff.
Why do you do it?
To help others get active, have confidence and feel better. And to help build a community of runners and walkers where everyone can support each other.
What was your Catalyst? (How did you get started?)
I have always been active my whole life and I have found being active – whether it’s running, swimming, tennis, or gymnastics – it helps me to feel better and gives me more confidence. I want to help individuals from our community live a healthier lifestyle. I believe in the power of moving our bodies through running or walking, and the way being active can help a person to feel better.
What’s a common misconception or unknown aspect of what you do?
Our store is for everyone, you don’t have to be a runner to need good footwear.
Personally: I spend tons of time on the computer doing back office things.
What’s the most challenging part of your Hustle?
Having enough hours in the day to get everything done.
What’s the most valuable piece of business advice/insight that’s helped you?
Two things:
1 – Treat others nicely. We treat our customers and co-workers the way we would want to be treated.
2 – Keep things simple and focusing on the basics.
