What do you do?
I’m part business strategist, consultant and coach.
Why do you do it?
To build stronger, more resilient local economies and business leaders.
What was your Catalyst? (How did you get started?)
I was working as a consultant for a major corporation when Covid-19 happened. After seeing the challenges our small business community faced, I decided to help entrepreneurs create business plans and strategies to weather the storm and build sustainable futures. My husband and I created Local Union Consulting, affordably allowing small businesses opportunity to learn strategies and techniques big corporations use.
What’s a common misconception or unknown aspect of what you do?
That small business consulting and strategy is too expensive or isn’t worth the investment. That’s just not true! Small consulting companies are affordable because they don’t have the overhead like the big firms. But more importantly, the return on investment is huge. We help you create solutions and processes to save time, money and energy so you can prioritize and strategically grow your business.
What’s the most challenging part of your Hustle?
Finding new clients. Because we are so affordable, we don’t have the big marketing budgets like bigger firms. Luckily, we have an incredible following on Instagram and in our community, so most of our clients are now referrals!
What’s the most valuable piece of business advice/insight that’s helped you?
If you do it more than once, automate it! Not only will it save you time (to focus on revenue-generating activity), it will create processes that allow future employees to flourish.
