IGNITE Tampa Bay coming to the Palladium in June
The annual IGNITE Tampa Bay event, a fast-paced evening of entrepreneurial and inspirational presentations, has been confirmed for Wednesday, June 13 at the Palladium Theatre in St. Petersburg.
Tampa Bay startup community advocate Marvin Scaff, the co-founder of Dabbl, will emcee the evening, during which each presenter is given five minutes onstage – with 20 slides – to make their point to the audience.
Ignite’s organizers say the format “lends itself to showcasing a diverse range of speakers and topics designed to stimulate short attention spans.”
The national Ignite program began in Seattle in 2006 and has spread all over the country; the Tampa Bay edition has sold out for the last seven years.
Although there is no limit to the subject matter at the all-ages event, technology and entrepreneurship are favorite topics. “I’ve seen the rest of the country begin to take notice of what I have known since moving here in 1991,” Scaff said in a statement. “Tampa is a not only a great place to start a company—it really is a great place to build and scale a business. It’s encouraging to see all the interest and investment in the startup community here.”
Speaker applications are available here. Deadline for applying is May 20.
