Jobsite announces season for 2022-23
Jobsite Theater, the resident professional theater company at Tampa’s David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts, has announced the 2022-23 season.
Productions in the company’s 24h season will be split between the intimate Shimberg Playhouse and the 320-seat Jaeb Theater.
Picasso At The Lapin Agile. Comedy by Steve Martin imagines a meeting of the minds between Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein. Directed by Kari Goetz, Sept. 16-Oct. 9, Shimberg.
Dracula. Steven Dietz’s adaptation of the classic horror novel by Bram Stoker. Directed by David M. Jenkins, Oct. 21-Nov. 13, Jaeb.
Hamlet. David M. Jenkins adapts and directs the company’s annual Shakespeare production, Jan. 13-Feb. 5, Jaeb.
Misery. The Stephen King novel, adapted by William Goldman and starring husband-and-wife David M. Jenkins and Summer Bohnenkamp. Directed by Paul Potenza, March 17-April 9, Shimberg.
ALICE. Cabaret set in the topsy-turvy world of Lewis Carroll, with live music, visual art, puppetry, aerial and circus arts. May 12-June 4, Shimberg.
LIZZIE: The Musical. Directed by Alison Burns-Jackson; this rock musical telling of the story of ax-murdering Lizzie Borden was on of Jobsite’s biggest hits in 2016. By Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer, Tim Maner, and Alan Stevens Hewitt, July 14-Aug. 6, 2023, Shimberg.
Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992. This one-woman drama by Anna Deveare Smith, in which actress Andresia Moseley plays 27 characters, was seen in a limited run in the earliest peeking-out-from-the-pandemic days. It returns Aug. 18-28, 2023. Shimberg.
Season passes go on sale May 30; tickets for individual shows will be made available over the summer.
