Managing Director Joe Jimenez has left the Edwards Group after 8-and-a-half  years, according to an email update from Bill Edwards obtained by the St. Pete Catalyst.

As managing director, Jimenez oversaw a number of Edwards’ projects, including the Mahaffey Theater, Sundial, Al Lang/The Rowdies, The Club at Treasure Island and Big 3 Entertainment.

According to The Club at Treasure Island website, Jimenez was hand-selected and recruited by Edwards and entered the St. Petersburg scene in 2010. His more than 30 years of experience ranged from serving as senior vice president at Foxwoods Resort & Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Connecticut, to working alongside development moguls like Steve Wynn and Donald Trump. Jimenez’ resume also includes time spent in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, where he was intimately involved in the development and management of The Coliseum at Caesar’s Palace.

According to the brief email sent Saturday, Jan. 12 and signed by Bill Edwards, Jimenez’ last day at Edwards Group was Friday, Jan 11. In the email, Edwards states that Jimenez will be spending his time in South Jersey and Philadelphia. His replacement for managing director has not yet been announced.

A call for comment to Bill Edwards’ office at The Edwards Group by the Catalyst was not immediately returned.
