Kobie Marketing Inc., one of the largest marketing firms in the Tampa Bay area, has laid off 25 employees.

“Kobie has experienced considerable growth in the past several years. To continue to provide the best loyalty solutions for our clients and meet our business needs, it was necessary to make modifications to our structure,” Bram Hechtkopf, CEO, said in a prepared statement.

Kobie provides marketing and brand loyalty services based on proprietary technology for big name companies across industries. Clients include Bank of America (NYSE: BAC), Citi (NYSE: C) and Marriott (NASDAQ: MAR), among others, according to the Kobie website.

The company ranked No. 2,586 on the Inc. 5000’s 2018 list of fastest-growing private companies, with $70.3 million in 2017 revenue and a three-year revenue growth of 164 percent.

The company had about 450 employees as of mid-September, when it opened a new office and contact center in the Dallas area. That was a little over two years after Kobie opened a location in the Ceridian office campus in the Skyway Marina District in St. Petersburg.

“The decision was not an easy one, especially for a close-knit company like ours. We’ve said goodbye to teammates and we are grateful for their hard work. This was a difficult business decision but I am extremely confident in the direction we’re moving,” Hechtkopf’s statement said.
