Marketing videos put focus on St. Pete’s museums

Taking a cue from Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, which has used video marketing to great global effect, the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance has created a series of concise branding videos designed to show the rest of the world just how unique this area is.
The nine-video series is called St. Petersburg: A City of Museums. It’s available on YouTube and is being distributed to websites and social media outlets, to arts journalists, magazines and print/online publications.
“Bringing all the museums into focus as a collective offers locals and visitors alike the wide range of visual arts within our city,” Arts Alliance CEO Terry Marks explains. “We hope that our community shares these videos with family and friends alike, so we engage and encourage economic growth through the arts for St. Petersburg.”
The series, Marks says, is in line with the vision of the Comprehensive Arts Strategy, a planning initiative launched in 2021 by the Arts Alliance, the city’s Downtown Partnership and the City of St. Petersburg itself.
“Recently, I shared these nine museum videos with a friend who lives in Portland,” she adds, “and her response was ‘I had no idea there were so many museums in St. Petersburg!’ Exactly the point!”
Each of the videos, shot by Communicasting with post-production works by Roundhouse Creative, runs between two and three minutes. The Museum of the American Arts and Crafts Movement declined to participate.
The clips are narrated by a member of each museum’s administrative team:
Amanda Cooper, Chief Curator for the Morean Arts Center and the Chihuly Collection
Peter Tush, Curator of Education for the Dali Museum
Angeline Howell, CEO, Great Explorations Children’s Museum
Rui Farias, Executive Director, St. Petersburg Museum of History
Jane Buckman, Executive Director, Imagine Museum
Emily Kapes, Curator of Art, James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art
Dr. Stanton Thomas, Senior Curator of Collections & Exhibitions, Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg
Terri Lipsey Scott, Executive Director, Woodson African American Museum of Florida
Erin Blankenship, Interim Director, Florida Holocaust Museum
A 10th clip is a compilation of moments from each individual video.
