Meet CEED.
Florida CEED seeks to change the understanding of what business is. CEED is a 501(c)(3) non-profit born out of the New Deal for St. Pete that helps businesses start, convert, or incubate cooperatively owned businesses. A cooperative business is a private organization owned and operated by the people who use its services or products. Judith Turner, executive director of Florida CEED, a life-long entrepreneur and licensed contractor formed the organization in August 2017, and it is currently housed within Pinellas Technical College. CEED educates and trains current and potential small business owners about the benefits and possibilities of cooperative businesses, and their ability to create equitable community wealth.
