Meet the St. Pete Catalyst team at Localtopia!
Localtopia, St. Petersburg’s favorite celebration of all things local, returns to Williams Park this Saturday for its 7th year. The colossal gathering of more than 250 independent businesses, nonprofits and community organizations is a seven hour mania on one square block in the center of St. Pete. It has become a highly anticipated, can’t miss annual event.
We sat down with Olga Bof, founder of Keep St. Pete Local and Localtopia, in November to talk about how “Keep St. Pete Local” has become a mantra for the city’s small business community. As Olga reminded us, local restaurants, shops, breweries and artists are behind the magic, the funk, that special flavor that is St. Pete. But that magic doesn’t preserve itself. That’s where Bof and events like Localtopia come in.
Meet the team!
This year, the St. Pete Catalyst team will be on scene celebrating our roots as a truly local, independent modern news platform aggregating and celebrating the sparks that drive the St. Pete engine: the local businesses, influencers and organizations that make this place so special.
St. Pete Catalyst Publisher Joe Hamilton and Managing Editor Megan Holmes will be on scene all day, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., answering your questions about the St. Pete Catalyst, our work and how you can get involved. We’ll also be recording our Hustle small business profiles, along with an interactive photo booth for our readers.
You’ll even get a chance to meet our incredible journalists. Finance Editor Margie Manning will join us at the Catalyst table from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and Culture Editor Bill DeYoung will join us from 1-3 p.m.
Remember, we are powered by the community-sourced content of our Community Voices section. If you’d like to kick the tires on your own story or opinion piece, come see us.
