CellarMasters Wine Bar & Bottle Shop headed to St. Pete’s Edge District

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. (August 30, 2019) – Residents and visitors of the ever-growing Edge District just got another reason to celebrate all that’s happening in the neighborhood: A wine bar and bottle shop will start popping corks this fall.

Bridgewater Commercial Real Estate’s Dan Huntington and Dee Maret helped secure a long-term lease for CellarMasters Wine Bar & Bottle Shop at 1005 1st Avenue North. CellarMasters’ customers can buy and take home affordably priced bottles on the package sales side of the property or stay and enjoy purchased bottles or indulge in wine and beer by the glass on the opposite side of the 2,190 square foot property. Owner Ryan Rugg and Partner Kory Lynn will offer appetizers and small plate options as well. Rugg is a veteran of the wine industry, honing his craft as a wholesaler, Fine & Natural wine retailer, and Cellar Master/Winemaking Supervisor in the San Francisco Bay area. Lynn is a Sommelier, wholesaler and has worked in multiple markets around the U.S. opening wine bars and selecting wine for restaurants and retailers.

CellarMasters will sell and offer unique selections of small production wines in categories ranging from Traditional to Natural.

“In just a few years we have noticed the wine culture and curiosity in the Tampa Bay Area explode while working as wholesalers. We want to take pretension out of the equation and offer education of awesome wines from small producers or lesser known grapes/regions to our people. It’s wine, let’s have fun with it,” Rugg said.

CellarMasters will be located directly across the street from the newly announced Marriott-managed hotel and one block west of the newly opened Icon Central Luxury Apartments. Rugg hopes to open his doors before Thanksgiving and will offer his customers outdoor seating so they can enjoy the weather and surroundings of the burgeoning district.
