As a mix between a crowd-funding platform and a venture capital fund, Florida Funders is certainly unique. Florida Funders receives and carefully considers 1,000 applications annually from nascent technology companies, one to two percent of which it chooses to invest in. Next, Florida Funders negotiates the terms of a deal with a company. Finally, true to its name, Florida Funders funds companies not only by investing capital, but also by surrounding them with a network of investors and partners – to mentor, coach and train companies to grow into sizable tech companies. Thus far, the angel investors, entrepreneurs and venture capitalists of Florida Funders have invested $10.4 million into 26 burgeoning tech companies.

Tom Wallace is the Managing Partner as well as investor and board member at Florida Funders. He is a part of the democratization of financial systems around the world. He is helping early stage companies get access to capital from investors through an online process and crowdfunding (don't let that word scare you) that was impossible just a few years ago.
