Operation Regroup is a mentor program that pairs injured veterans and troubled teens in the Tampa Bay area.
The nonprofit aims to reinforce a sense of purpose for combat veterans, who are given the opportunity to empower troubled teens in the community. The pairs engage in outdoor activities, such as camping, beach volleyball, arts and crafts and kayaking. Through these exercises, veterans and teens embark on a path of healing and are able to restore balance between mind, body and spirit. Operation Regroup also establishes a sense of community for veterans and juveniles who have been incarcerated by emphasizing support and respect; both underserved groups build camaraderie and help one another overcome difficult obstacles and challenges.
