As the largest credit union service organization (CUSO) in the United States, it’s comprised of over 900 credit unions. PSCU’s goal is to empower credit unions to compete with larger financial institutions by keeping in front of the demand curve. Staying committed to innovation has allowed PSCU to patent the fraud prevention service, CardLock, and is also the first to offer VISA Prepaid EMV cards and “MasterPass” for simple and safe online purchasing. PSCU hosts an annual event called KnockOut, where members are challenged to collaboratively create new ways of improving the credit union industry. To remain competitive, they are also experimenting with artificial intelligence, hoping to increase efficiency and allow members to focus more on relationship building.

President & CEO
Chuck Fagan leads PSCU as its President & CEO driving the cooperative to enable credit union growth and to provide an unparalleled member experience through service delivery, access to best-in-class payments solution, partnerships with payments industry leaders and scale. Fagan’s career in the credit union industry spans over three decades, beginning at Virgina Credit Union as the card services manager. In 1997, Fagan joined PSCU as the company’s SVP/eastern region manager and in 2004 was named EVP, Chief Sales Officer and helped pioneer the company’s role in bringing emerging payments technologies to credit unions. From 2013 to 2015, Fagan was CEO of Credit Union Executive Society (CUES), a membership association dedicated to educating and developing credit union executives and emerging leaders. Fagan serves on Visa’s Credit Union Advisory Council and represents the industry on Visa’s Community Financial Institution Advisory Group. He holds a BSBA in finance from Longwood University in Farmville, Va.
