Pinellas reports, then retracts Covid-19 death

The Florida Department of Health reported one death in Pinellas County from Covid-19 coronavirus Monday night, then retracted that report.

Shortly after 6 p.m., the Department of Health’s twice-daily dashboard update looked like this: 

But it was changed within a couple of hours and the death was no longer listed.

The report from the health department said there are now 41 confirmed cases in Pinellas County — 26 men and 15 women, ranging in age from 21 to 75, with an average age of 53. Twelve of the Pinellas victims are hospitalized.

There have been no deaths reported in Hillsborough County, where there were 75 confirmed cases as of  6 p.m. Monday.

Statewide, there are 1,227 total cases. The latest report from the health department, as of late Monday, said there were 17 deaths statewide.
