Places This Week: Ben Mallah’s Belleair Beach estate

Local real estate investor and YouTube personality Ben Mallah is selling his Town of Belleair Shores estate at 1700 Gulf Blvd., Belleair Beach for $35 million.
Built in 2014 by former Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Ryan J. Howard, the three-story residence, with 19,578 heated square feet, features 10 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.
The waterfront property, known as and registered under the name Sandcastle on the Gulf, is situated on 1.17 acres spread across three lots.
Inside is an open floorplan with a combination living and dining room; a kitchen equipped with top-of-the-line appliances, stone countertops and solid wood cabinets; a temperature-controlled wine room and bar with a wine fridge, icemaker and kegerator; a family room off of the kitchen; four laundry rooms; a gym with a steam shower and sauna; and a bowling alley.
Additional interior highlights include cathedral and coffered ceilings, crown moldings, wood and travertine floors and a gas fireplace. Attached garage spaces provide parking for seven vehicles.
Outdoors is a resort-style heated pool with a lazy river, a grill area with a refrigerator, a putting green, 200 feet of private beachfront and another 200 feet of public beach waterfrontage. Also on the property is a separate 5,000-square-foot guesthouse with a private entrance.

Downtown St. Petersburg redevelopment opportunity
A two-parcel property, with plans already approved for the development of a multifamily complex at 630 4th Avenue S., St. Petersburg, has listed for sale with an asking price of $3.2 million.
Both parcels are currently vacant following demolition of prior structures earlier this year. Together they comprise 0.19 acres of land.
The proposed development includes a seven-story, 33-unit property with 11 two-bedroom/two-bath units and 22 one bedroom/one-bath units – all with private balconies. Additional features include a 16-space parking garage, a leasing center, elevator, fitness center and a lounge with a roof deck.
Both parcels offer DC-2 zoning, allowing for a variety of other uses as well.
The sellers, with holding companies in upstate New York, purchased the properties under the registered name Onyx St. Pete, LLC in 2022 for $1.55 million.

Century-old Pinellas Point waterfront property lists
A waterfront Spanish-style estate, at 7240 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street S. in the Pinellas Point neighborhood of St. Petersburg, has listed for $2.995 million.
Built in 1925, the two-story home provides five bedrooms and six full bathrooms across 4,456 square feet of living space.

Two adjacent restaurants and properties for sale in Palm Harbor
Two Palm Harbor restaurants and accompanying real estate, located next door to one another, have individually listed for unknown amounts. Both provide fully equipped kitchens and turn-key operations.
The Salty Lime, at 1019 Florida Ave., is a Mexican cantina that occupies a 2,661 heated-square-foot structure built in 1948. The property also includes a 100 square-foot canopy area and a 133 square-foot detached utility space.
The restaurant, which currently serves lunch, dinner and a weekend brunch, seats over 150 guests, both indoors and outdoors. The 0.14-acre plot of land provides 58 feet of frontage on Florida Avenue and five on-site parking spaces.

1915 Safety Harbor bungalow sells
A three-bedroom, two-bath home at 1005 Main St., Safety Harbor sold Nov. 5 for $907,000, $292,000 below the price listed in June.
Built in 1915, two years before Safety Harbor was officially incorporated, the two-story, craftsman-style wood-framed home features 2,487 square feet of living space on a 0.23-acre double lot steps away from downtown.
