Places This Week: Chick Corea’s former home for sale

The longtime residence of musician Chick Corea, in the North Largo neighborhood of Clearwater, has entered the market with an asking price of $2.5 million. Located at 2124 Laurence Drive, it features 8,684 square feet of living space across three floors.
Corea, a legendary jazz and Latin fusion pianist and composer, NEA Jazz Master and 27-time Grammy winner, passed away from cancer in 2021 at the age of 79. He owned the home with his second wife, keyboardist and songwriter Gayle Moran.
Inside are five bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and one half-bath. The main level features a large foyer that leads to a great room with vaulted cathedral ceilings and a brick fireplace. On one side is a library with a high-end sound system, and on the other is an office with soaring ceilings and stained glass windows.
The chef’s kitchen is equipped with Viking and Sub-Zero appliances and a large center island with an eat-in bar. A dedicated dining room, family room and screened-in porch provides additional entertaining spaces.
On the second floor is the primary suite designed with a fireplace, custom his-and-her closets, a spiral staircase descending to the office below, a private balcony overlooking the backyard, and an ensuite bath with a walk-in steam shower and a free-standing bathtub. Also on this level are the remaining bedrooms, an exercise room, laundry facilities and a kitchenette.
The total square footage also includes a top-level bonus space with a fireplace, closet and full bathroom; an attached 1,080-square-foot three car garage; and a detached 550-square-foot structure suitable as a studio or to accommodate additional guests.
In the front of the home is a pavered circular driveway, and out back is a saltwater pool surrounded by a red brick deck.
Built in 1985, the estate sits on a 1.88-acre lot convenient to shopping, dining and the beach. Additional highlights include an elevator, solid wood cabinetry, custom woodwork, an equipment shed and outdoor storage.

Indian Rocks Beach sale breaks record
A 9,271-square-foot waterfront estate at 304 Gulf Boulevard, Indian Rocks Beach, sold May 7 for $10.6 million. Built in 2025 by Tulia Home Designs, the property was first listed in November 2025 for $13.9 million. The sale broke a record for the highest price paid for a single-family home in the city’s history.
The main residence offers six bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half-baths across three floors. On the first level is Italian porcelain flooring, a gym with a sauna, an entertaining bar and a guest suite or office. The second level features an open living and dining area with a linear gas fireplace, a library, an ensuite bedroom, and a chef’s kitchen with Wolf appliances, two waterfall islands, a butler’s pantry and a glass-enclosed wine room.
Upstairs are three additional ensuite bedrooms and the primary suite with a separate foyer, morning bar, a spa-inspired bath, and retracting doors that open to a private beachfront balcony. A rooftop terrace provides an outdoor living space with expansive views of the Gulf of Mexico.
Additional interior highlights include a residential elevator, a floating staircase, a combined theater and golf simulator room, automatic sliders on the main level and a smart home audio system.
An attached guest house features a living area, a kitchen with a waterfall island, two ensuite bedrooms, a half-bath and a separate rooftop terrace. A five-car garage is equipped with a power washer and car vacuum.
Outside are covered lounging areas and a pool with a floating spa and sun shelf. The 0.22-acre lot features 51 feet of Gulf waterfrontage.
Tulia Home Designs, LLC purchased the property in 2023 for $3.3 million. Jennifer Zales with Coldwell Bank Realty served as both the seller’s and buyer’s agent.

4th Street retail properties sell
The sale of two adjacent commercial retail properties at 900 and 944 4th Street N., St. Petersburg closed May 7 for $4.2 million.
900 4th Street N. is a one-building, one-story strip store with 3,444 heated square feet. Built in 2002, it sits on a 0.33-acre lot on the corner 9th Avenue. Current tenants include Starbucks and Poshe Day Spa.
944 4th Street N. is a two-story retail property situated on a 0.42-acre parcel on the corner of 10th Avenue N. Built in 1925, It features 8,661 heated square feet across two floors. Tenants include Tijuana Flats and Sunshine City Pets.
The seller, Fomack Realty Corporation based in Banford, Connecticut, purchased the two properties in 2004 for $3.39 million.
The buyer, Heritage Capital based in Atlanta, GA, closed the acquisition under the registered name Petersburg Retail, LLC.

$3 million price drop for Snell Isle estate
Following almost a year on the market, the price for a two-story century-old single-family estate at 501 Brightwaters Boulevard NE, in the Snell Isle neighborhood of St. Petersburg, has dropped by $3 million. First listed in June 2025 for $15 million, the two-story Mediterranean-style residence, with 6,760 square feet of living space, is now available for $12 million.
Built in 1924 and situated on a 0.55-acre waterfront lot, the home features six bedrooms and seven full baths.
The current owner spent over three years updating the home, including installing new lighting, cabinetry, woodwork, Energy Star appliances, hurricane-proof doors and windows, an elevator and a smart-home system.
Attached to the home is a 1,103-square-foot three-car garage. Outside are security gates, a circular driveway, tile pavers, a saltwater in-ground pool and a composite dock with electricity.

The seller, represented by Alona Dishy with Re/Max Metro, purchased the property in 2020 for $4.83 million.

Kenwood apartment building lists
A 10-unit multifamily apartment complex, at 3036 6th Avenue N. in the Kenwood neighborhood of St. Petersburg, has listed for $2.65 million.
Constructed in 1972, the two-building property offers 8,170 square feet of rentable space, including seven two-bedroom/one-bath and three one-bedroom/one-bath apartments. Current leases are set to expire between the end of June 2026 and the end of January 2027. Two units are being kept vacant for showing purposes while the property is for sale.
