Places This Week: Dwight Gooden’s former St. Pete home

A 7,850-square-foot waterfront Mediterranean-style estate at 6755 30th Street S., in the Greater Pinellas Point neighborhood of St. Petersburg, has listed for $5.5 million.
The residence, built in 1983, was once owned by former New York Mets pitcher Dwight Gooden, who purchased the property in 1987 for $530,000. Gooden played with the Mets from 1984 until 1994 and retired in 2000 after brief stints with the New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, Houston Astros and the Tampa Bay Rays. He sold the home in 2003 for $650,000.
Inside is 5,845 square feet of open living space with five bedrooms and six bathrooms spread across two floors. The chef’s kitchen is outfitted with a 48-inch Dacor range, a Sub-Zero side-by-side refrigerator and freezer, a built-in microwave and a dining nook that looks over the grounds and Tampa Bay. A dedicated office space is located on the first floor, and an elevator offers convenient access between the two levels.
The 0.77-acre parcel of land is located at the end of a quiet street with water on two sides. In front is a pink brick driveway with a fountain and a 900-square-foot garage, large enough to accommodate up to three vehicles.

Chamber of Commerce Building condos for sale
Two retail/office condo units totaling 7,904 square feet, located in the Chamber of Commerce Building at 100 2nd Avenue N., St. Petersburg, have listed for $5.5 million.
Situated on 0.82 acres of land, the building was constructed in 1925 and offers 37,829 total square feet across three stories.
Occupied by Hancock Whitney Bank, Suite 100 on the ground floor has 2,542 square feet and serves as the bank’s retail center. Suite 200 on the second floor totals 5,362 square feet with a layout including a lobby, reception area, executive offices, a board room, break room and storage area.

Dunedin Causeway estate lists
The only single-family home remaining along the stretch of the Dunedin Causeway, plus an adjacent income-producing triplex, have together listed for $3.75 million.
Located at 439 and 433 Causeway Boulevard, the properties provide a total of nine bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and one half-bath across 6,437 square feet. The entrance to the home, constructed with imported limestone, is through a black iron gate that leads to a circular driveway with mature landscaping, a large fountain and a porte-cochère for secure access.

St. Pete Beach hotel property enters market
A five-parcel portfolio anchored by the Saint Hotel at 7201 Sunset Way, St. Pete Beach has entered the market for a total asking price of $10.5 million.
The Saint is a two-story, 21-key property built in 1949 and renovated in 2021. It comprises 13,598 heated square feet and is situated on a 0.32-acre plot of land. Included in the sale are four additional vacant parcels behind and adjacent to the hotel with addresses on Sunset Way, 72nd and 73rd Avenues. They total an additional 0.59 acres of land.
The hotel offers an onsite restaurant with an outdoor bar, a pool and an elevator. The property has the capability of expanding to 42 keys, as well as the additional development of 12 condo or multifamily units on the excess land.
Highlights include close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, a turn-key asset and an experienced general manager and management team running the hotel and food and beverage operations.
The sellers, McBride Equity Holdings, LLC, based in Tavernier, Florida, and Founders Hospitality, LLC, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, purchased the five parcels in 2024 for $9.98 million.

Multi-acre Seminole waterfront estate sells
A 4,147-square-foot residence situated on 2.45 acres along the Intracoastal Waterway, at 8880 Commodore Drive, Seminole, sold April 28 for $1.9 million. It was listed in January for $2.4 million.
Built in 2007 and redesigned in 2025, the three-story property features five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and a dedicated den/office, with an elevator providing access to all levels. One of the bedrooms was transformed into a state-of-the-art home theater.
The lower level provides a three-car garage and an additional 2,500 square feet of fully finished space equipped with a kitchen, bar, full bathroom, an entertaining area and a large room currently being used as a gym.
