The original owners, Carl Wilkens and his wife, Mary Ackert, reportedly refused to sell the home to developers after receiving numerous offers.

It last sold to former WFLA news anchor Joe Mannion for $133,200 in 1979. The Mannion family still owns the home, according to Pinellas County records.

The 2,604-square-foot home has a wraparound porch and a detached two-car garage.

Kristin Hallamek and Ron Henkel Jr. of Engel and Volkers Belleair are the listing agents.

Food hall coming to Dunedin

A New Orleans-inspired food hall concept will open at 990 Broadway in downtown Dunedin.

The mixed-use concept, dubbed the Dunedin Mix, will have a French-themed rotating carousel bar and an event space. It will debut in December. A specific date has not been announced.

The concept is a family-owned project between Brandon Stanley, his wife, Ashley Stanley, and Brandon’s mother, Kristen Ernst, according to a news release. The property was purchased for $680,000 in 2018.

The Dunedin Mix will have four food venders and two boutique tenants on the first floor. The second level will include event and banquet space.

“When the Stanleys purchased the property, they wanted to do a mixed-use project, but after seeing Armature Works [a food hall and event venue in Tampa] and enjoying the concept, they decided to bring the project to Dunedin. Dunedin also does not have a true event venue so the project will cater to many purposes for those in the area,” the announcement read.

To date, two restaurant tenants have been secured – Huli Bowl and Rotisserie and Al Dante Pasta and Pizza. Additional tenants will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Stanley’s construction company, Paramount Construction Group, is serving as the general contractor for the project.
