Prime’s ‘Life’s Rewards’ puts Pinellas back in the national spotlight

The Amazon Prime series Life’s Rewards, a scripted comedy/drama shot entirely in Pinellas County, is back for a second season.
All eight new episodes of the series dropped Friday on the streaming service.
Co-developed and produced by Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commission and Visit Florida, Life’s Rewards tells the fictional story of Jared – played by Florida actor Jared Wofford, who had a small role in Season 1 – and his food truck business, set against the backdrop of St. Petersburg, Clearwater and the Gulf Beaches.
Along the way, the characters visit as many local attractions and hotspots as possible. In Episode 3, Jared takes his date Shevonne (played by Tampa musician Shevonne Philidor, whose music is featured in the program) to Duncan McClellan’s St. Pete art studio, where they create glass art in the Hot Shop.
“We’re always looking for new ways to tell our story,” Visit St. Pete/Clearwater CEO Steve Hayes told the Catalyst in 2021. “And one of those was ‘Is there a way tell it through cinematography? Like a film?’”
