Sinbad has been confirmed for a Jan. 23 date at Ruth Eckerd Hall - at 50 percent capacity,

In December, Ruth Eckerd Hall will become the next Pinellas performing arts facility to resume live shows.

President and CEO Susan Crockett announced Tuesday afternoon that the 2,200-seat main hall, and its 750-seat partner the Capitol Theatre, both in Clearwater, will begin hosting live performances at 50 percent capacity.

St. Petersburg’s Palladium Theater resumed presenting live shows in October, following CDC guidelines calling for extra spacing between seats and rows, and face masks on all.

In the Mahaffey Theater, the Florida Orchestra began a similar limited capacity series earlier this month.

“In addition to frequent multi-layer sanitization of our venues, new XONAR technology uses thermal imaging sensors to detect elevated body temperature,” Crockett said in a news release. “A new hospital-grade HVAC-PHI Air Purification System continually treats the air, eliminating viruses, mold, bacteria, and air pollutants, reducing the risk of airborne illness.”

In addition, Crockett announced, “Appropriate face coverings will be required inside our facilities, contact is being minimized, and hand sanitizer stations are readily available. We will continue to adjust our operating protocols as guidelines evolve.”

Tickets go on sale Friday (Nov. 13) for these Ruth Eckerd Hall shows, at 50 percent capacity:

Dec. 12: Travis Tritt Solo Acoustic

Dec. 13: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild & Swingin’ Holiday Party

Dec. 20: Michael W. Smith

Dec. 30: Collective Soul

Jan. 23: Sinbad

At the Capitol: Comedian Anthony Rodia performs on New Year’s Eve.

Other, previously-announced shows are already on sale. All info and tickets here.
