It’s an unprecedented artistic confluence!

The 9th annual SHINE Mural Festival begins Friday, with 14 new big-wall canvases going up in real time, downtown, in the Warehouse Arts District and elsewhere.

During Saturday’s Second Saturday ArtWalk, the Morean Arts Center, ARTicles Gallery, Creative Clay’s Good Folk Gallery, St. Pete ARTWorks, Craftsman House and Soft Water Gallery are featuring works by current or past SHINE artists or interactive mural activities.

Here’s the official locator map for SHINE ’23; find out who’s going to be where, and when, through the 22nd:

There are, as always, several SHINE-related events going on over festival week, including:

Today (5-10 p.m.) and Saturday (11 a.m.-4 p.m.) at Overspray, 1934 Second Ave. S., is the All City SHINE Kickoff Party, with live painting, exhibitions of street and graffiti art, a DJ and more.

Bayboro brewing will officially unveil its 2023 SHINE craft beer on tap, Spraycation, Oct. 19. The happy hour event is 5:30-9 p.m.

The October ArtWalk, combined with the ongoing SHINE work, should make for an extra-special art-centric Saturday (more than 40 studios and galleries will be open 5-9 p.m.). Here’s the October ArtWalk map, including info about special exhibit openings, and everything you’ll need to know, to go:
