The St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated 121 years Thursday evening as a healthy and cancer-free President and CEO Chris Steinocher spoke to members about the brights spots of 2019, and welcomed new leadership for 2020.

Steinocher, who shared his prostate cancer diagnosis in an audio interview with St. Pete Catalyst in August, underwent successful surgery in September and was cancer-free at his recent 90-day checkup. The well-known community leader took a month fully removed from the spotlight, and has slowly returned to his duties at the Chamber during his recovery.

In his remarks, Steinocher thanked Chamber Executive Committee Chair Bill Kent for his leadership of the organization during his absence, as Kent passed the baton to incoming chair Ryan Griffin.

Griffin, a local entrepreneur and a partner at Johnson Pope, welcomed a panel of 2020 Executive Committee members and experts, including Chair-Elect Sri Sundaram, Dean of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg’s Kate Tiedemann College of Business; Dr. Tashika Griffith, Provost of Downtown and Midtown campuses of St. Pete College; Jason Jensen, Principal at Wannemacher Jensen; April Harley, Supplier Diversity Manager at JLL; Anne Pollack, Partner at Fletcher, Fischer & Pollack; and David Vetter, Executive VP and Chief Legal Officer of Tech Data.

The full 2020 Executive Committee includes: Ryan Griffin, Sri Sundaram, Bill Kent, Anne Pollack, Kathy Wright, David Vetter, Jason Spears, Sandra Braham, Tashika Griffith, Jim Dickson, and Paul Carder.
