The virtual Suncoast Tiger Bay Club meeting was held Nov. 5 featuring an election wrapup with panelists Peter Schorsch, a political consultant and publisher of Florida Politics and INFLUENCE magazine, and Steve Contorno, political editor of the Tampa Bay Times.

During the hourlong session moderated by Suncoast Tiger Bay president Barclay Harless, Schorsch and Contorno shared their thoughts on the general election. They answered questions about election night surprises, lessons that can be learned from South Florida, the future of polling and pollsters and their reactions to Amendment 2, which will incrementally raise the minimum wage to $15. They also discussed the local races for county commission and school board and shared their predictions for upcoming elections and candidates at the state and local level.

The Florida Tiger Bay Clubs Election Series will close out the season with a free post-election analysis event Thursday, Nov. 12 at noon. For more information on how to watch, visit Suncoast Tiger Bay’s Facebook page or website.
