Tiger Bay: Florida State Representative District 70 [Video]

The virtual Suncoast Tiger Bay Club meeting was held July 22 and featured a panel discussion with the four candidates running for State Representative District 70. The candidates included: 

  • Michele Rayner, an attorney and Pinellas County native
  • Mark Oliver, a St. Petersburg native and fitness educator
  • Keisha Bell, a St. Petersburg native and attorney 
  • Michele Grimsley, a Manatee County native with a background in marketing and public relations

During the hourlong discussion, the panelists give brief introductions and share their platforms on issues impacting District 70. They also answer moderator and audience questions about what sets them apart from one another, how they would address the school-to-prison pipeline, the improvements they would make to the mental health system, whether they think systemic racism exists, what it means to defund the police and their views on gentrification.
