This virtual Suncoast Tiger Bay Meeting was held June 24, 2020.

Panelists include the four candidates for Pinellas County School Board District 7:

• Dr. Sharon Jackson

The panelists share information about themselves and their platforms in advance of the Aug. 18 school board election. They also answer moderator and audience questions regarding racial and ethnic disparities, their ideas for reopening schools during the COVID-19 pandemic and their strategies for improving the grades of failing schools.

Other questions included whether there should continue to be a police presence in schools, the appropriate role for charter schools in Pinellas County, and what each candidate would do to improve the school district’s environmental footprint.
