Cindy Stovall’s livestreaming variety show to be rescheduled
4 p.m. Update: Because of technical issues with the internet, Stovall reoprts this event will NOT take place tonight, but will be rescheduled.
There won’t be a Catalyst Session tonight. We’re sitting this one out so we can support our friend Cindy Stovall, the longtime host of Beauty & the ‘Burg, who’s streaming a (nearly) all bay area “variety show” tonight, via the Helium Radio Network’s Facebook page, which you’ll be able to watch here. Beauty & the Burg – LIVE! Around the World starts at 7 p.m.
Along with virtual performances from several favorite bay area performers, the program will check in with three graduates of the Pinellas County Center of the Arts, including singer/composer Dylan Glatthorn, a two-time recipient of the Alan Menken Award.
“I’ve been watching so many great arts offerings online,” Stovall explains, “and it occurred to me that, with the the high level of diverse talent in our arts community, a ‘variety show’ format might be a fun watch.”
She gives props to Helium Radio CEO Erik Remmel, her producer for the evening. “He’s running tech so I can focus on the curation and interactions with artists,”she says.
Countdown to 7 p.m. “Hopefully,” Stovall says, “the ‘interwebs’ will be our friend tonight.”
