Tori Amos.

Touring in support of her 18th album, In Times of Dragons, idiosyncratic singer/songwriter Tori Amos is back among us. The part-time Florida resident will be piano-pounding Friday at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are at this link.

Chad Stivers, Patrick Bettison, LaRue Nickelson, Vinnie Seplesky, Gale Trippsmith and Joey Interrante are collectively known as the St. Pete Collective (see how that works?). They’ll be together onstage Friday at the Palladium Side Door Cabaret, with an all James Taylor program. It starts at 8, and tickets can be found here.

Latin music superstar Willy Chirino is in concert at Ruth Eckerd Hall Saturday. Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert are at this link. The Catalyst spoke this week with the Cuba-born performer (see this link).

Florida-based Ella & The Bossa Beat, featuring sultry bossa nova vocalist Ella Blu, returns to the Palladium Side Door Cabaret Saturday. Find tickets for the 8 p.m. shows at this link.

Australian multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker is the juice behind the hugely popular Tame Impala, performing Friday at Benchmark International Arena. The show, which you probably already know, is long sold out.

Back at the Capitol Theatre Sunday: Actor/singer Billy Bob Thornton and his high octane rock/Americana band the Boxmasters. Here’s what Mr. T told the Catalyst last year; here’s the ticket link for Sunday’s 7:30 p.m. show.

Here come the ‘90s again, as Train and Barenaked Ladies play the Mid-Florida Credit Union Amphitheatre Friday. Find tickets here.

Sunday’s Peace Memorial Summer Piano Concert (3 p.m. at Clearwater’s Peace Memorial Church) features young musicians from the Rebecca Penneys International Piano Festival. Tickets, and more information, can be found here.

On theater stages

Dear Jack, Dear Louise, a World War II-era comedic love story by Ken (Crazy For You, Moon Over Buffalo) Ludwig, is the latest production from the Tampa Repertory Theatre. It’s onstage in the Shimberg Playhouse, opening tonight and running through July 26. Get all showtimes and tickets right here.

Still pullin’ ‘em in at freeFall Theatre (through Aug. 2): Bash of the Titans, a musical (sort-of)  satire of the 1980s Greek God movie dust-up Clash of the Titans. Find showtimes and tickets at this link.

(Tonight’s freeFall cabaret with Bash co-star Kissy Simmons is sold out.)

LAB Theater Project is starting the second weekend (of three) of its unsettling poli-drama The Cross and the Saber. Find showtimes and tickets at this link.

Beach, Please Summer Cabaret (Saturday, 7 p.m. at American Stage) is a “yacht rock showcase” featuring singers from past AS shows. Tickets.
