Collins ousted in third round at French Open

June 4, 2021 - Despite holding a 4-2 lead in the second set, St. Petersburg pro tennis player Danielle Collins lost in straight sets to superstar Serena Williams, winner of 23 Grand Slams, in the third round of the French Open in Paris. The 6-4, 6-4 victory propels Williams, the No. 7 seed at Roland Garros, into the round of 32, where she will face Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan, the tournament’s No. 21 seed. Collins, 27, is ranked 50th on the Women’s Tennis Association tour and sponsored by St. Pete’s Dynasty Financial Partners.
