If you’re searching for ways to give back, the Catalyst’s Impact Connector is here to help. Each week, we feature five organizations in the Tampa Bay area that need your input, whether that’s time, talent, items, funding or simply awareness. We’re certain you’ll find something here that matches your interests and will positively impact the community.

CASA Pinellas Back to School Drive

Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA) Pinellas is holding a back-to-school drive to help give children and families impacted by domestic violence a positive start to the school year by filling backpacks with the essential items they will need.

Wish list items include backpacks, pens, pencil pouches, loose-leaf paper, binders, markers, notebooks and more. Items can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 1019 Arlington Avenue N., St. Petersburg.

CASA also has an Amazon Wish List where items can be purchased and shipped directly to CASA’s office.

If you’d like to drop off donations, contact Emily, CASA’s Development Specialist, at em****@**********as.org.

Safety Harbor Library After Dark fundraiser

The Safety Harbor Public Library Foundation is hosting a Library After Dark fundraiser, Friday, Aug. 7 from 6:30 until 9:30 p.m.

Proceeds will help fund the library and the various programs it provides to the community.

Do Good Sprouts Crescent Lake cleanup

The Do Good & Shine Brightly Foundation, Inc. is a St. Petersburg 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed last year that coordinates initiatives to help sustain growth, collaboration and impact among local nonprofit organizations.

Do Good Sprouts is a series of events that connect children with local nonprofits and hands-on community experiences. On Saturday, Aug. 29, in partnership with Stewards of Our Urban Lakes, Connect Pinellas and other nonprofit organizations, the Foundation is hosting a community cleanup at Crescent Lake Park in St. Petersburg from 8:30 until 11 a.m.

The event is free for children of all ages, along with their families, and includes a lake cleanup as well as interactive activities to help children learn more about the environment and giving back to their community.

Crescent Lake Park is located at 1320 5th Street N., St. Petersburg.
