What do you do?
I help people look and feel their best through custom menswear. At Tweeds, we create suits that are built from the ground up to fit your measurements, style and personality, ensuring you’re confident and comfortable in every aspect of your wardrobe.
Why do you do it?
I do it because I love seeing the transformation – not just in how someone looks but also in how they carry themselves. A well-made suit is more than just clothing; it’s confidence, self-expression and a way to make someone feel their best in important moments of their life.
It’s also about connection. Every suit I create starts with a conversation, and through that, I get to know my clients on a deeper level. Helping them look great while building relationships is what drives me every day. Plus, there’s something incredibly fulfilling about being part of a timeless and personal craft – it never gets old.
What was your Catalyst? (How did you get started?)
My journey into menswear started with friendship. I was best friends with the founder of Tweeds back in high school, and as I watched him bring his vision to life, I couldn’t help but be inspired. At the time, I studied physical therapy, focusing on solving physical challenges and assisting people in improving their quality of life. But seeing my friend build Tweeds from the ground up sparked an interest in me – I wanted to be part of what he was creating.
What drew me in was the personal impact of menswear. I started working with Tweeds as a side gig while finishing school, and I quickly realized there was something powerful about helping someone step into a suit that fits them perfectly. It’s not just about how they look but how they carry themselves. I saw parallels between physical therapy and custom menswear: both require precision, an understanding of individual needs and a commitment to helping people feel their best.
That friendship was the spark, but the real catalyst was seeing the difference a great suit could make in someone’s confidence. From there, I was hooked. I decided to fully commit to this journey, growing with Tweeds and building a place where style meets purpose.
What’s a common misconception or unknown aspect of what you do?
One of the biggest misconceptions about custom suiting is that it’s just about making minor tweaks to something off the rack – like buying a standard suit and tailoring it to fit. But what we do at Tweeds is completely different. We work backwards from your measurements, creating a suit that is built specifically for you from the very beginning. It’s a personalized process where the fit comes first, and everything else – from the fabric to the final details – follows.
What’s also unique about this approach is its efficiency. By starting with your exact measurements, we only use the fabric that’s necessary to create your suit, which means less material goes to waste. It’s not only better for you as the client – ensuring a perfect fit – but it’s also better for the environment. Custom suiting combines craftsmanship, sustainability and a deeper level of personalization, which is something I think a lot of people don’t realize until they experience it for themselves.
What’s the most challenging part of your Hustle?
The most challenging part is balancing the art and the logistics. Creating a custom suit is deeply personal – it’s about understanding each client’s unique needs and translating that into something they’ll love. But there’s a lot of coordination behind the scenes: managing timelines, sourcing the perfect fabrics and ensuring every detail comes together seamlessly.
I also take a lot of pride in going the extra mile for my clients, which sometimes means dropping everything to make sure a suit is perfect or even personally delivering it to meet a deadline. It’s a challenge but also what makes the work rewarding – seeing the final product and knowing I’ve made someone’s day, or even their big event, that much better.
What’s the most valuable piece of business advice/insight that’s helped you?
The best advice I’ve received is to focus on relationships, not just transactions. Building a successful business isn’t just about the product or service you offer – it’s about the trust and connection you create with people.
