Profile

In 2009 Eric Higgs was facing a dilemma. After designing a light sculpture in downtown Tampa, he noticed that the design would need more than 20,000 watts per day to power it. He dismissed options that were too expensive, ugly or lacked efficiency. So he set out to find a solution that would conserve energy without sacrificing the design's aesthetic appeal. That's how Higgs came up with LED fixtures that consumed a total of 890 watts for the entire project. It became clear to Higgs that this discovery could solve the situations of others who cared about clean power and quality lighting. LumaStream was founded because of that solution. As of today, LumaStream offers the only end-to-end low-voltage solution on the market. The company created a program that allows joint partnerships with luminaire manufacturers who produce LED luminaries compatible with LumaStream's power distribution and remote driver technology. The St. Pete-based company sells directly to national corporate accounts and their franchisees, general contractors, electrical contractors or low-voltage integrators.
