In 1925, what is known today as Wallace Welch & Willingham began with an agency contract between the St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company and John P. Welch. In 1964, William Wallace and John I. Welch merged their companies together to form the Wallace-Welch Agency. The agency became even bigger when in 1968, the Bennett Agency and the John B Green Agency joined to form Bennett Wallace Welch & Green Insurance, Inc. Finally, in 1984, Wallace Welch & Willingham, Inc. was born as a result of both the merger of Weyman Willingham & Co and Bennett Wallace Welch & Green, and the acquisition of Stambaugh and Associates. In the decades since, the agency has continued to fulfill its mission of providing the best marine insurance in the area.

Scott Gramling began his insurance career at Wallace Welch & Willingham in the Commercial Property and Casualty division. Since then, he served as a producer from 1989 to 2000; a sales manager from 2000 to 2008; and he has served as CEO from 2004 to the present.
