The St. Petersburg renaissance has been in full swing for more than a decade. We’ve excelled in many areas and struggled in others. In our series St. Pete 2.0, we’re partnering with the St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership to explore what lies on the other side of our potential – what will it take to move to the “next level” as a city? Through this series, we’ll dig into specific topics with the hope that you, our thoughtful citizens, will share your insight, experience and wisdom.
Challenges related to COVID-19, an economic downturn and demands for racial equity and social justice have changed our world in significant ways. Every city in America has an opportunity to emerge from this time in ways that will shape our future, and St. Petersburg seems uniquely suited to meet these challenges.
We have a strong sense of community filled with people who genuinely want to find solutions. We live in a beautiful area with a palpable sense of place. We have a strong economy. We have many people who have been working on racial equity issues for many years. St. Petersburg can set an example for other cities in Florida and around the country.
What should St. Petersburg prioritize as we rebuild? We want to know what you think, and we need your input by Thursday (July 9).
