Bright Futures Scholarship Program Volunteers

Pinellas County is proud to offer opportunities for high school students to meet the requirements for a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. Our simple service projects teach young people responsibility and leadership, plus reinforce positive values and good citizenship.

Foster a fur baby(or senior)

Not quite ready to adopt a new cat or dog but interested in a short-term commitment? We have just the program for you. Our foster parents provide a safe and loving environment for kittens, puppies, dogs and cats until they are ready to be adopted. Our greatest foster needs are: mom cats with litters and orphaned kittens and litters. Fostering is flexible enough for most lifestyles and all veterinary care. Medication and care supplies are provided by Pinellas County Animal Services. The foster parent provides affection, we provide the rest. By taking one of our animals into your home on a temporary basis you provide that animal with a safe environment as they get ready to find a forever home

Volunteer at CASA

CASA welcomes people with diverse backgrounds and skills to enrich our programs. Our vision is a community without domestic violence so that home is a safe place. We do that by involving our community—you—in our volunteer program. All skill levels are appreciated and all volunteers are considered advocates for social change by providing community education, outreach support, crisis intervention and safe environments for survivors of domestic violence and their children.

Tech Coaches Needed

Are you good at social media, design, or tech? We need volunteer "Tech Coaches" to help our low-income aspiring entrepreneurs succeed at our start-up Bootcamps. You'll work 1-on-1 with a student to help them build a simple website on Weebly, design a business card on Canva, start a LinkedIn profile, and launch a Facebook page. If you're good in ANY of these areas we can use your help!  The volunteer commitment is for 10 very flexible hours over a two-week period between 4/12 and 4/25.

Helping with computer technology!

Computer needs are knowledge in how to delete programs, add apps and programs, seek out spammed and phished items and delete them to clean up our system and to find out if we have been hacked on a couple of e-mail addresses. For someone with some knowledge of how the wonderful world of computers work, this should all be easy!
